Story
Who and What is Recess?
First, maybe we should say what Recess is not. And that is, it is not a business, non-profit, charity, church, or anything else of that sense. Instead, it is play in action. It is parents coming together to learn to be children again and only grow old in number. It is pushing our bodies, playing in sports, and supporting each other with common experiences. It is about our children and every generation to follow.
Our Mission: Play
Enjoyment in life is a healthy life. And learning to play is not only a bridge to joy, but a bridge to connecting with our children, our families, and our community.

Blance
It's not all play, but physical fitness, good food, and good conversations. It is also about empowering not enabling.
Mission, Values, and Vision
To have an aim is to hit a target. We value building things together from sports teams to snowboarding groups to (you name it).
Grace
Humility in its grandest form. We learn from experience and adjust our course to best suite our group needs with the individuals in mind. If we are not having fun, we figure out why.
Active Engagement
It takes a fire to light a fire. Recess only works because of the people who create it. So play, contribute, rest, and pass it along. In this game, it's okay to receive until you can give. But instead of thinking of it as give/take, think of it as learning so we may teach. And, ultimately, be, a different way.
